My new build - decision

After several enjoyable years with my Triumph Thruxton I decided to start a new project.

Over the years the old BMW airheads grabbed my attention more and more. Although they got extremely popular - and hence, pricey - I wanted to have one of those.

I knew the subframe was one of the first party that needed to be shortend. Since regulations in Germany are very strict, when it comes to frame changes (e.g. no welding on cruicial parts) I went for a monolever. The monolever has the advantage that the rear shock is not attached to the subframe and might therefore make it more likely to get through the authorities.

I found a '88 R80RT. Property of an older man. With 60.000km on the clock. And in excellent condition
